Mrs Helen Woodbridge - Executive Assistant

Mrs Woodbridge has held this role since 2003.  Prior to this, similar positions were held in other local primary schools as well as working for both accounting and finance companies.  During her OE in Britain, Helen was employed as a PA for a group of solicitors in Scotland.   She is supported by her husband, Robert and they have two beautiful adult daughters.  When spare time allows, Helen enjoys relaxing at the beach or lake, and has always shown an interest in gardening/floral arranging 'Fun With Flowers'.         

Mrs Beverly Perez - Finance Officer

Mrs Perez is our Finance Officer.  Beverly was born and raised in the Philippines.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Degree and had been working in the banking industry for six years.  Beverly likes to spend most of her time with her family.    

Mr Murray Carter - Property Manager

Mr Carter began employment at St. Mary's in January 2018.  He enjoys fishing, golf and spending quality time with his family,  especially his wonderful grandchildren Flynn, Sophie and Zane.  

Our Learning Support Staff

Mrs Robyn Breen - Learning Support Teacher

Mrs Breen is a qualified teacher, who has returned to the education sector after several years working in their family business.  Robyn has always had a love of seeing children learn to read, so as a Reading Support teacher, she is able to work in the area alongside the teachers in the junior classes.

Mr and Mrs Breen have lived in Papakura for a number of years, with their children and now their grandsons, one of which is still currently at St Mary's.  Robyn enjoys going for walks with her husband and also does quilting in her spare time.    

Mrs Anne Devoy - Learning Support Teacher

Mrs Devoy works as a Learning Support teacher, helping in the Jerusalem Team, as well as helping in the school library.  Anne has a long association with St Mary's Catholic School.  Her four children completed their primary school years here.

In her spare time, Anne loves art and keeping fit.  

Miss Michelle Garden - Learning Support Teacher

Miss Garden started at St Mary's Catholic School in October 2019 as a Learning Support teacher in the Bethlehem Team, which she really enjoys, supporting the children and the staff.  Miss Garden is a very family orientated person and likes to spend her spare time with her family, in particular her two nephews who keep her very busy.  Michelle enjoys going to the cinema, gardening and when possible, travelling to new places.  

Mrs Lynette Harnett - Learning Support Teacher

Mrs Harnett has worked at St Mary's Catholic School for over 15 years as a Learning Support teacher in all year levels of the school.  Mrs Harnett and her husband have lived in Papakura/Takanini for 30 years with three lovely children, who they are very proud of.  

Mrs Harnett has a love for travel and the history it brings.  She also loves crocheting.  Lynette looks forward to working with your children in the future.  

Mrs Beverley Wetere - Learning Support Teacher

Mrs Wetere has previously worked in a kindergarten as a support person and an admin assistant.  Beverley is looking forward to being able to support the teaching team and the students.

Beverley is very family orientated and loves spending time with her family.  In her spare time she loves to read, crochet and to go fishing.  

Miss Rhiannon Bates - Learning Support Teacher

Miss Bates is a past pupil of St Mary's School and comes back to us, having worked previously as a teaching assistant, a role which she bloomed in.  Rhiannon is so excited that she has found her path helping teach the children that need the extra support.  Rhiannon has an affinity with children and loves seeing them progress and grow. 

Miss Bates is a qualified surf lifeguard at Whiritoa Beach so she loves the sea;  she loves spending time with her family and is a keen cake decorator.  

Mātua Wade Heke - Kapa Haka Tutor / Kaupapa Māori Curriculum Support

 

Tēnā Koutou katoa

Mātua Wade has travelled the world extensively on multiple occasions, representing New Zealand as an ambassador for the Māori culture, through song and dance.  He is fluent in Te Reo Māori.

Mātua Wade has a master's degree in Performing Arts in Education since 2011.  He has worked within the education system for the past 20 years as a teacher of Te Reo Māori and performing arts, most recently in one of our local primary schools as head kapa haka tutor.  Mātua Wade is very passionate about our children as rangatahi of tomorrow.

Our Kiwi Can Team

Mrs Here Piho - Kiwi Can Co-ordinator

Kia orana from Mrs Here Piho who is of Cook Island/Tahitian descent and was born and raised here in South Auckland.  She is from a very big family consisting of Mum, Dad, seven sisters and one brother.  She is the fifth child.  Here is happily married to an amazing partner who is so supportive and very understanding.  She really enjoys cultural dancing and loves going on adventures (long hikes) around our beautiful country.  

Here is a Kiwi Can Leader at St. Mary's School.  Kiwi Can is a fun 'life skills' program that helps teach students more in-depth about values.  It is taught through fun, engaging energisers and activities that help the students understand by putting it into practise.  Here has been a Kiwi Can leader for nine years and believes this is the best job in the world because she gets to help amazing future leaders grow.  

Here really loves being at St Mary's School because everyone always shows the St Mary's Way and it's Awesome!

Mr Gabriel Charlie - Kiwi Can Co-ordinator

Hey there!  I'm Gabe from Kiwi Can.  I enjoy playing sport and I'm currently playing club volleyball.  

I love being involved with the youth.  I attend life church and I serve in the youth ministry.  I have a love for making an impact in our young people's lives.
