ABOUT US

Our children learn through inquiry and active participation. Our broad curriculum allows students to engage in a range of experiential activities which support their learning about the world around them. From day to day, you will find students learning through play and discovery, utilising digital devices and various IT platforms, gardening, film making, playing sport, cooking, cleaning, singing, dancing and making music.

We begin each school year with a summer Family Picnic, where teachers and parents are able to interact socially and get to know each other better. The summer sunshine and some amazing food and games make for a lovely afternoon each year.

We are very proud of our active school community. Our PTFA regularly plan and provide exciting events and fundraisers from special lunches to exciting themed discos.

We enjoy an annual school Gala which is widely supported by the broader Papakura community. This is our most important event on our calendar and is eagerly anticipated each year.

We celebrate the Feast of St Anne in July each year with a special Grandparents Day. We love having our grandparents at school for the morning, which begins with a special liturgy, after which they visit our classrooms to share their special stories and we love sharing our learning with them. We then treat them to a sumptuous morning tea before they leave us with excited waves, hugs and kisses.

In August, we celebrate our school's very special Feast Day of the Blessed Virgin Mary. What a beautiful day this is! We begin with a beautiful liturgy when we show our adoration and love for our Mother Mary, Queen over all. This is followed with a day of excitement and celebration.

Our students work enthusiastically towards our annual Mission Day in Term 4. Students design innovative and creative ways to utilise their skills and talents to raise funds for our school Mission.

Our school year is filled with many special events and as a Mission School, we love to find ways to support the poor and disadvantaged in our own community and across the world.

We participate in national fundraisers like Daffodil Day and Pink Shirt Day.

Other special events are our Language Week Celebrations, during which we celebrate our diversity and our cultures with special prayers and liturgies, cultural dress, food, music and dance.  We also enjoy an annual swimming gala, Athletics Event and Cross Country Races.

Through all these special events, our students learn more about themselves and others, but most importantly we all learn more about the love of Jesus, building our relationship with Him.
